Community Support in 2022

One of the great expressions of purpose for any organization is the positive, rippling impacts they can have in their communities.

Throughout our history, Pinnacle EMS has always embraced the idea that people work best when they feel they are able to balance and blend their work and personal lives and have an impact that expands beyond themselves. 2022 was no different as Pinnacle EMS employees put their time and money into helping others in their communities in meaningful ways.

Why Me & Sherry’s House

Why Me & Sherry's House is a non-profit organization created to help local families cope with childhood cancer.

Created and operated in part by parents that lived this experience first-hand, the dedicated staff and volunteers understand what families with pediatric cancer patients need and are passionate about the services provided.

Pinnacle EMS has donated to Why Me & Sherry’s House for years to help families in need during the holiday season.

Sherry’s House is home to a variety of services to support families, including no-cost lodging for families while their child is on active treatment in a New England area hospital and support groups, a food pantry, and social events for the children and their families.

The financial hardship and emotional weight brought by a juvenile cancer diagnosis make celebrating the holidays both challenging and incredibly important as families look to create cherished memories and find the strength to continue the fight. Pinnacle has supported Why Me & Sherry's House for many years in its mission to help bring joy to families during an unimaginably difficult time.

In 2022, Pinnacle EMS’ team once again came together to support a family with two children. Through our team’s efforts, we purchased gifts for the family and their children to make this holiday season more enjoyable. Generosity abounds at Pinnacle EMS, and we are so honored to be able to create special moments and smiles even through the most challenging days.

World’s Central Kitchen

Throughout 2022, Pinnacle EMS team members continue to be moved by scenes of devastation in Ukraine following the invasion of the country. Immediately, we took stock of the many ways that we could lend a helping hand to our neighbors abroad during this difficult and uncertain time.

Ultimately, the team decided that one small way we could make an impact was by supporting World’s Central Kitchen, founded by renowned chef and activist José Andrés, to provide meals to Ukrainian families that had been displaced following the invasion. Since February, World’s Central Kitchen has provided over 175 million meals to those in need.

World’s Central Kitchen has provided over 175 million meals to those affected by the invasion of Ukraine in early 2022.

Over the course of a few months, Pinnacle EMS team members raised thousands of dollars to donate to World’s Central Kitchen and its continued efforts to assist Ukrainians. Pinnacle EMS’ Records Manager E.M. Lampkin lends some insight into what it means to help others when it is needed the most through World’s Central Kitchen.

“World’s Central Kitchen is an incredibly important organization focused on providing meals to people in areas affected by humanitarian, climate, and community crises,” said Lampkin. “Everyone needs access to food daily, and WCK is focused on providing that access immediately to those in need. Specifically, Pinnacle EMS’ campaign to raise funds for those suffering in Ukraine was incredibly important, as it helped us on this side of the world find a way to show solidarity and support for those struggling. I already knew that I worked with an amazing group of people, but to know through community effort, we were able to raise thousands of dollars was incredible. Additionally, knowing that Pinnacle EMS, as a company, matched a certain dollar amount for each person that donated just made it all the better. It shows the care and impacts our Pinnacle EMS community can share with our global community.”

Together We Can Make a Difference

As a company, we are proud to have supported these great organizations and others such as The Trevor Project and Women in Distress of Broward County.  As the winds of uncertainty and charge swirl around us, we like to remind ourselves that the load is the lightest when we all come together to carry it. Through combined efforts, we’re able to provide for those in need and leave a lasting impact on those who are in need year-round. It’s a privilege to be able to work together to do that good work.
