Pinnacle EMS’ 2022 Year-in-Review

The past year saw Pinnacle Environmental Management Support (Pinnacle EMS) and its team members reach new heights and accomplishments within our industries. Below are just a few stories of how our team made 2022 one of the best years yet for Pinnacle EMS.

Pinnacle EMS’ President & CEO named 2022 outstanding woman in business for Triad

In February, Cindy Williams, the President and Founder of Pinnacle Environmental Management Support, was recognized as an Outstanding Woman in Business for 2022 by the Triad Business Journal.

Williams, who founded Pinnacle in 1995, spends her days leading a high-performing team focused on reducing the administrative and financial burden associated with regulatory compliance and cleanups arising from petroleum storage tanks.

Over the past two years, Williams successfully led her team to deliver exceptional results even during the sudden change to becoming a remote workforce and has continued to advocate for clients facing uncertain challenges within the energy and environmental industries. Her leadership has inspired many at Pinnacle EMS, including Nicholas Haddy, the company’s Vice President of Business Strategy.

“Even after a career spanning almost three decades of delivering extraordinary outcomes for some of the most distinguished organizations in the energy and environmental engineering sectors, Cindy still maintains a drive to overcome any obstacles to the effective junction of government and business. Cindy always insists on gathering all the information, and that’s why she’s so well trusted to have the facts necessary to support informed decision-making by divisions within Fortune 100 companies,” said Haddy.

Williams joined 24 other talented women leaders in the 2022 class of Outstanding Women in Business award winners, representing industries such as health care, nonprofits and banking.

The Triad Business Journal celebrated the honorees at Grandover Resort and Conference Center on May 5th in Greensboro. For more information regarding the ceremony and the Triad Business Journal’s Outstanding Women in Business award, please visit the Triad Business Journal’s website.

Pinnacle EMS moves headquarters from Pompano Beach to Deerfield Beach

Pinnacle EMS relocated its headquarters from Pompano Beach, Fla., to Deerfield Beach, Fla. in June, as much of our Florida workforce went remote during the pandemic successfully. The move north allows Pinnacle EMS to work more collaboratively and host meetings with its clients and guests. The new office space features a modern conference room, a pair of executive offices and an updated kitchen for our team members.

Pinnacle EMS has been headquartered in South Florida since its inception and is recognized by the state as a certified women-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

Pinnacle EMS attends the 27th National Tanks Conference

The City of Steel – Pittsburgh, Pa. served as the host city of the 27th National Tanks Conference presented by NEIWPCC, the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Underground Storage Tanks and the Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO). This was the first National Tanks Conference since 2018, which was held in Louisville, Ky.

Over the course of four days in September, Pinnacle EMS team members attended numerous presentations and networked with the top leaders and regulators within the underground storage tank (UST) industry.

The event was highlighted by Pinnacle EMS’ Cindy Williams' presentation on the California Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund and its significant progress in improving the reimbursement claims process over the past five years. Williams presented alongside Diane Barclay, California’s Assistant Deputy Director and UST Cleanup Fund Manager. Together, they informed the audience about the importance of improved workflows and policies that have positively impacted UST owners and operators.

In addition to the informational sessions and presentations, Pinnacle EMS and Groundwater Environmental Services (GES) partnered to co-host a cocktail event for attendees on the second evening of the conference. The event was well attended and provided Pinnacle EMS and GES the opportunity to reconnect with old faces and make new friendships along the way.

Looking Ahead

The past year was filled with many milestones and achievements, and we expect that 2023 will be no different. Our company has continued to take on new challenges and tackle new business opportunities by expanding our service suite, which has been a direct result of client requests.  Specifically,  we have added professional staff with extensive experience in geospatial and enterprise data services, as well as limited professional engineering services related to current work scopes.  These additions have broadened our capabilities and deepened our bench strength to bring value to our clients as their industries grow and develop.

We are excited to continue to provide high-quality services and deliver business results that have been a staple in our operations for over two decades. Our expertise, experience and efficiency are maintained through a workforce experiencing very little turnover, even during tumultuous times.

We look forward to updating you throughout the year as important updates develop regarding Pinnacle EMS and our industries.
