A major oil company was interested in expediting the divestment of a portfolio of sites but needed visibility into historical ownership and potential environmental risks of each property.
Time kills all deals and the time it took to find the key information on each property lead to missed opportunities or proceeding without having a thorough picture and discovering problems later in the process.
As a way to alleviate the resourcing burden and produce a plan to close the information gap, Pinnacle stepped in to support the researching efforts. Beginning by creating a database and user-interface (UI) to make the process efficient and sustainable, the core team carried out researching the historical activities on identified sites including pipelines, wells, regulatory databases, historical imagery, zoning and utility information, and more.
