Community Support in 2021

At Pinnacle Environmental Management Support, we embrace the blend of work, family, and our greater role within our communities.

Those elements combine together to make our “Life Integrator” value within our organization To be a Life Integrator, one must display behaviors that respect and value individuals and put the needs of others first. Being involved in our society and giving back helps benefit the greater community all around us.

In 2021, Pinnacle team members rose to the challenge of being a Life Integrator in more ways than one. Through our team’s efforts, we were able to assist many in need and bring awareness to important societal challenges. Below are just a few of the countless examples of how our team and company made a difference in the past year.

The Trevor Project

The generosity that is shown by Pinnacle through their donations to The Trevor Project not only further grows our own internal culture of care and acceptance, but helps grow that out into the larger world through helping young people within the LGBTQIA+ community.
— E.M. Lampkin

To stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and raise awareness for LGBTQIA+ mental health, Pinnacle donated to The Trevor Project for each team member who wore Pride colors in June.

The Trevor Project was founded in 1998 and is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQIA+ persons under the age of 25. Presently, The Trevor Project estimates that there is over 1.8 million LGBTQ youth in the United States seriously considering suicide each year. On top of that, LGBTQIA+ young people are more than four times more likely to attempt suicide than their peers, and suicide remains the second leading cause of death among all young people in the United States.

“The generosity that is shown by Pinnacle through their donations to the Trevor Project not only further grows our own internal culture of care and acceptance, but helps grow that out into the larger world through helping young people within the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Team Lead of Records Management E.M. Lampkin. “The life-saving work completed by The Trevor Project is important for so many reasons, but the one that speaks to me the most is the idea of hope for a better present and future days."

Pinnacle will remain committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and fostering a working environment that is welcoming to all, while also advancing the dialogue about mental health awareness for LGBTQIA+ people.

Suicide Prevention Awareness

In September, Pinnacle team members raised money for Suicide Prevention Awareness through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Our employees wore the official colors of the Suicide Awareness Ribbon in support of all who have been affected by suicide, while also advancing the dialogue about mental health for those who need help.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education, and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death.

Additionally, Pinnacle provided a “Lunch and Learn” event for our team members regarding suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Because this is an ongoing issue that has touched many of our lives and families, the learning session provided resources and tools for individuals to access to help those who need assistance.

If you or someone you care about is in need of additional suicide prevention resources or support, please visit www.afsp.org.

K9s For Warriors

On Veterans Day, Pinnacle honored and showcased gratitude to the men and women who have served, or are serving, our country both here and abroad.

Our company humbly recognized their bravery, sacrifices, and commitment to making our country and the world a better and safer place for everyone.

As a part of our effort to thank veterans for their service, Pinnacle donated to the K9s For Warriors foundation, which combats veteran suicide through its organization. In addition, K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma.

“Pinnacle again has shown their generosity and thoughtfulness in donating and promoting the K9s For Warriors organization,” said Senior Program Manager Lori Brashers. “As someone with a nephew that has benefitted from this program, my family and I are deeply appreciative of Pinnacle's support and bringing awareness to this life-saving program.”

Why Me & Sherry's House

Why Me & Sherry's House is a non-profit organization created to help local families cope with childhood cancer.

Created and operated in part by parents that lived this experience first-hand, the dedicated staff and volunteers understand what families with a pediatric cancer patient need and are passionate about services provided.

Sherry’s House is home to a variety of services to support families, including no-cost lodging to families while their child is on active treatment in a New England area hospital and support groups, a food pantry, and social events for the children and their families.

The financial hardship and emotional weight brought by a juvenile cancer diagnosis make celebrating the holidays both challenging and incredibly important as families look to create cherished memories and find the strength to continue the fight. Pinnacle has supported Why Me & Sherry's House for several years in its mission to help bring joy to families during an unimaginably difficult time.

In 2021, Pinnacle’s team came together to support a family with two children. Through our team’s efforts, we purchased gifts for the family and their children to make this holiday season more enjoyable. Generosity abounds at Pinnacle, and we are so honored to be able to create special moments and smiles even through the most challenging days.
